Aero Asia

Aero Asia International is a private airline which is based at Jinnah International Airport , Karachi and it lies in the province of Sindh . The airline was controlled and maintained by Tabani Group. However it has been transferred to UK based Regal Group and temporarily the summer time flights are cancelled in the year 2006. It is the first airline which started its program in Pakistan and the low cost carriers operates in Pakistan and the Gulf States . The main bases for this airline are at Jinnah International Airport , Karachi and Dubai International Airport, Dubai.

The Aero Asia airline was started in the year 1993 and it came into full swing on 4, May 1993. Initially it was owned by Tabani group, people who are mainly centered in Karachi and have business all over Pakistan. Aero Asia runs a fleet of 3 to 5 Yakovlev YAK-42D in main routes in Pakistan like, Karachi , Lahore and Islamabad. During the recent years, the Airlines replaced its YAK-42Ds with Boeing 737-200Adv and DC-9s. In addition to this, it also introduced a modern livery rather following the ready colors, to make it more attractive.

The name "Aero Asia" was added to the front of the fuselage using red color in bold and the logo is placed in between the writings and also in the tail. In 2006 Aero Asia and Askari Bank Master Card announced discounts for their regular card members for travel. On May 22, 2006, The Civil Aviation Authority stopped all the Aero Asia flights, for the reason it has to pay millions of Rupees to the CAA. This was clearly pre-informed to the Airline people, but they were not in a position to do the necessary things on time, so CAA was forced to ban their flights. On June 12th, this Airline was overtaken by Regal Group from its original owners Tabani. After this, the process of reconstructing and new starts up was set-in by the Regal Group. The airline is expected to commence its international flights by 2007. But now the Airline has included facilitated Airbus Aircrafts for additional comforts of the passengers.
