WestJet is a low cost carrier airline based in Calgary. WestJet airline operates flights to many major cities and other 11 cities in United States. Since WestJet is having a non-unionized profit sharing for which it is credited for.
During September 20, 2004 WestJet commenced first trans- border flight which flies between Calgary and Toronto to Los Angeles International Airport as well as Toronto to New York LaGuardia. During July 4, 2005 WestJet put a stop to its service to New York.
After this, the airline announced its new services from Calgary to Fort Lauderdale, Toronto to Fort Myers and Phoenix, Edmonton to Las Vegas, Kelowna to Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Vancouver to Las Vegas, Phoenix.
During the year 2005, the WestJet airline introduced TV, live TV on board in its 737-700 and - 800 fleet. There are many channels which include CBS, CTV, ABC, CBC, NBC, Citytv, in addition to this there is a WestJet channel.
During October 26, 2006, WestJet airline officially announced best quarterly profit ever, which will be reaching C$52.8 million. WestJet maintained its cost under control to gain market share which will be helping the profits to surge.
